We make everything in linen. Not linen blends, not linen-look. Pure linen, woven from flax.
It is an old cloth. Linen has been worn around the Mediterranean for thousands of years for one simple reason: in heat, nothing else behaves like it.
We built the collection around a single material because doing one thing properly is better than doing several adequately.
Flax grows in cool, damp climates and asks very little of them. It is largely rain-fed, needing little or no irrigation, and it grows densely enough to suppress weeds on its own. From sowing to harvest takes around a hundred days.
The flax plant is used entirely. The long fibres become linen. The seeds become linseed oil. The short fibres and woody stem become paper, insulation and board. Almost nothing is discarded, which is rare for any crop.
Linen is the unusual fibre that is stronger wet than dry, which is why it survives washing that would wear other cloths thin. Each wash breaks down a little more of the natural stiffness in the fibre, so the cloth grows softer without growing weaker. It does not pill. It sheds almost nothing.
A linen shirt is at its best in its third year.
Linen carries heat away from the body faster than cotton and holds a great deal of moisture before it ever feels damp. The fibre is thick and slightly irregular, so the cloth stands away from the skin rather than clinging to it. Air moves through it.
Dubai and the Ligurian coast share the same problem. Linen is the answer to both.

The fibres are long and smooth, so linen sheds almost no lint and has no rough ends to catch. It doesn't hold moisture against the skin. For anyone who finds most fabrics uncomfortable in heat, linen is usually the exception.
Linen is a natural fibre and it biodegrades. Buried in soil, undyed linen breaks down within weeks. No microplastics, nothing that outlives you. A linen shirt should serve you for years. When it finally goes, it goes quietly.

Linen creases. This isn't a flaw in the cloth or a failure of finishing. It is what happens when a fibre with very little elasticity is folded. A synthetic springs back. Linen remembers.
We have chosen not to treat ours to prevent it. The finishes that stop linen creasing also stop it breathing, soften the hand artificially and shorten its life. What you gain in neatness you lose in everything that made you want linen.
Wear it creased. That is the point.
